Is acupressure as effective as acupuncture? I have a fear of needles but have always thought that acupressure isn't as effective.

I have a similar question - are there certain symptoms that are better treated by acupuncture?

Acupressure is based on the same Traditional Chinese Medicine principles as acupuncture, however, a needle can "press" a point much more precisely than the fingers, which might be more effective for an acute problem. Acupressure can be particularly effective for chronic issues that require long-term regular attention; unless you're trained, you can't needle yourself, but we can all learn basic but effective points to use ourselves daily. And, acupressure is ideal for those who fear needles.
