HAYWARD, CA--(Marketwire - April 10, 2008) - Com-Cycle, a wholly owned subsidiary of AERC Recycling Solutions, is pleased to announce that Elephant Pharm is sponsoring Com-Cycle "Electronics Recycling Events" for Bay Area businesses and residents as part of their "Earth Day" support of the Teleosis Institute's Green Pharmacy Program.

Elephant Pharm's free drop-off locations will accept computers, monitors, televisions, and other miscellaneous electronics between the hours of 9 am and 3 pm Saturday, April 12th, at the Walnut Creek Elephant Pharm located at 1388 South California at Newell Avenue and the San Rafael Elephant Pharm, 909 Grand Avenue at 3rd Street. Free drop-offs can also be made between the hours of 9 am and 3 pm, Sunday, April 13th, at the Berkeley Elephant Pharm located at 1607 Shattuck Avenue at Cedar Street and the Los Altos Elephant Pharm, 4470 El Camino Real near San Antonio Road.

"By partnering with Teleosis and Com-Cycle, we are both educating and helping our communities better dispose of unwanted or unneeded products," says Chandre Sarkar, director of wellness education and community outreach at Elephant Pharm. "Elephant Pharm is pleased to provide an easy-to-access drop-off location for Bay Area businesses and residents."

"In support of 'Earth Day,' Com-Cycle has partnered with Volt and several more California businesses and civic organizations to ensure electronics and electronic waste are properly recycled," states Frank Alioto, president of Com-Cycle. "Com-Cycle is proud to partner with Elephant Pharm and take the additional step of ensuring our waterways stay clear of pharmaceutical pollutants."

By dropping off unused and/or obsolete computers, cell phones, televisions and other electronic devices at one of the four Elephant Pharm locations, Bay Area businesses and residents will be helping to keep unwanted waste out of landfills while raising money for the Teleosis Institute of Berkeley, CA, a non-profit educational organization devoted to reducing the environmental impact of health care.

Teleosis' Green Pharmacy Program was launched in an effort to reduce pharmaceutical pollution of San Francisco waterways and to increase public awareness in regards to the environmental impact of discarded medications. Since June 2007, over 900 pounds of unused and expired medicines have been diverted from San Francisco waterways. The program establishes community-based take-back sites where consumers can take unused medications and sponsors events advocating environmentally safe disposal of unwanted medications.

Elephant Pharm and Teleosis are partners in safe medicine disposal. Unused and/or expired medications can be dropped off at any Elephant Pharm during regular pharmacy hours.
