Berkeley, CA--Elephant Pharm today announced the latest speakers in their on-going free in-store series. Prominent experts include Billy Blanks, well-known fitness celebrity and creator of Tae Bo; Dr. Melina Jampolis, Discover Network�s FitTV diet doctor; and Mark Schapiro, author of Exposed: The Toxic Chemistry Of Everyday Products. Health topics range from weight loss to how and why to avoid toxic chemicals you encounter everyday.
Mark Schapiro is an author and editorial director for the Center for Investigative Reporting in San Francisco. He will discuss his book, Exposed, recently featured on NPR, and in Harper�s and The Nation, and reveal how the U.S. is becoming a dumping ground for products banned elsewhere, made from toxic chemicals and linked to serious health hazards. He�ll also discuss ways to recognize and avoid potentially harmful products. He will be available to interview before events in: Los Altos, 2/3, 3-4pm; San Rafael, 2/9, 3-4pm or Berkeley: 2/23, 4-5pm.
Billy Blanks, creator of Tae-Bo, was a five-time U.S. Champion and seven-time World Karate Champion. He developed Tae-Bo to share his fitness and motivational expertise with the world. Billy will share stories about his phenomenal exercise program, do a live Tae Bo demonstration, sign copies of his DVD and help you find the motivation within yourself to stay fit and healthy! He will be available to interview before events in: San Rafael, 2/22, 2-3 pm and Walnut Creek, 2/22, 6-7 pm.
Dr. Melina Jampolis, Discover Network�s FitTV Diet Doctor, helps busy, stressed out people achieve their optimal health and weight. The renowned author of The No Time to Lose Diet is also one of 200 physician, nutrition specialists in the U.S.. She will share 7 steps to successful and permanent weight loss that fit into your busy lifestyle. She will be available to interview before events in: Los Altos, 2/2, 1-2pm and Berkeley, 2/6, 7:30-8:30pm.
