With 17 years experience working with the world's biggest names in advertising, Lauren has helped launch--and grow--some of the best brands in the business.
Her first job after graduating from Vassar College was working directly with advertising legend Jay Chiat of Chiat/Day in New York, and it was there that she got hooked on brand-building. She was part of the team that took a virtually unknown company, America Online, and created the strategy and brand identity that propelled it to become the most popular Internet service of all time. Part of their success was creating the concept of an online community of people--not just machines.
From Chiat/Day, she moved to Philadelphia to Tierney & Partners where she worked on the Bell Atlantic campaign (and hung out with the "very cool" James Earl Jones), helping to differentiate a service that customers long considered a commodity.
Lauren and her family ultimately decided to settle in Berkeley, and she joined Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners as a Partner/Client Services Director. Along with rebranding IHOP and Carvel, she went to work introducing the iconic Peet's Coffee & Tea to new markets by appealing to people who were as passionate about coffee as Peet's was. She also got to work on two other big technology accounts--PeopleSoft and Cisco--developing innovative marketing and increasing brand awareness by double digits.
Prior to joining Elephant in 2006, she served as Vice President, Account Director at Publicis Hal Riney, leading brand and strategy development for Sprint Nextel.
Lauren infuses all of Elephant's marketing strategies with this diverse experience. She's passionate about seizing this "once in a lifetime opportunity" to change the category and help people enjoy taking charge of their health.
When not changing the world of retail as we know it, Lauren hangs out with her husband and two young daughters, does yoga, and is a recent convert to Billy Blanks' Tae Bo workout.
