The Elephant Revolution 

The group of committed people who founded Elephant in Berkeley in 2002 had a passion for health, wellness, and education. It was created to offer health-conscious consumers a health- and wellness-minded product selection, superior customer service, and easy access to information through a free customer education program. That passion is evident in every aspect of our business to this day.

Our stores’ mammoth product selection includes over-the-counter drug store remedies, herbal remedies, bulk herbs, vitamins, supplements, body care and cosmetics. And because Elephant is more than just a drug store, customers will find also find a selection of products that support a healthy lifestyle, from natural foods to healthy household supplies; from yoga gear to home accessories, gifts, books and more.

Our carefully-selected team of wellness practitioners offers free, one-on-one consultations every day, and local and visiting experts lead hundreds of free classes and clinics every month in every store.

As of 2007, Elephant has opened three more stores— San Rafael, Los Altos, and Walnut Creek.  Achieving this growth takes hard work and commitment, two things Elephant employees have in spades. Expansion will allow us to bring our vision of a good long life, well lived, to even more customers, as well as offer our employees further opportunities for growth and fulfillment.
